Barbco, Inc is a manufacturer of quality underground construction equipment located in East Canton, Ohio. Founder and President Jim Barbera leads a team of 60 employees who build and support a wide range of underground equipment designed with the underground contractor in mind. The flagship product for Barbco is its line of Auger Boring Machines ranging in sizes from 24” to 96” and with thrust capabilities of over 2 million pounds. These machines are built tough and can be equipped with options, such as the Rapid Travel system (RPS) which quickly returns the machine to the back of the bore pit in order to install more casing to save the contractor time and money. A growing market for Barbco is its line of Directional Drills. They include production models ranging from the Trugrade MKII compact directional drill with 15,000 lbs of thrust and 24,000 lbs of pullback and 1500 ft/lbs of rotary torque to the BD110-20SC directional drill with 100,000 lbs of push and pull back power and 17,000 ft pounds of rotary torque. Larger custom drills are also designed and built at Barbco to meet the specific needs of the customer. Options such as air conditioned and heated cabs and video monitoring systems are available. For projects where line and grade accuracy is critical the Pathfinder TM pilot tube steering system combines the proven technology of pilot tube technology with the dependability of conventional auger boring. In addition, Barbco has developed The Controlled Boring System, which utilizes a 360 degree movable cutting head for maintaining line and grade , a water level to monitor grade and sonde technology to monitor line. For large diameter line and grade projects, Barbco sells and rents Boring Machine Tunnel Attachments.
